AMS Technologies has announced the availability of a groundbreaking new technology for CO2 detection, the SensorChip-CO2-4P from ICx Photonics, formerly ICx Ion Optics.
The SensorChip-CO2-4P, a first for Micro Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS) based CO2 gas sensor module in the industrial gas sensing arena, integrates advanced infrared sensor technology within a 4P housing. The module contains all of the electronics and optics required to accurately measure CO2 in a variety of industrial applications.
Beyond its application within the industrial safety market, the SensorChip-CO2-4P is suitable for any CO2 sensing application where a 4P form factor is desirable and an OEM module is required. Unlike pellistors and other traditional gas sensing technologies, the SensorChip-CO2-4P has a sealed sensor using infrared measurement, and is therefore immune to the effects of ageing and hysteresis. Additionally, the product¹s patented spectral tuning capability allows for wavelength specificity for IR emission and absorption, making the sensor highly gas specific and power efficient.
