Skire has announced Samsung Texas Construction, Inc. (STCI) has used its Unifier solution to meet stringent turnaround requirements for critical design and construction documents that are essential for on-time project completion. Skire software is helping STCI meet its critical completion deadlines through rich business process automation, robust cost control tools, and flexible reporting, which will enable Samsung to meet its projected goal of delivering advanced computer memory chips from the plant by late 2007.

"Unifier has been a invaluable tool for solving cycle-time problems," said Jim Scott, STCI site project coordination manager. "We could quickly identify cycle-time bottlenecks and deal with them effectively."

STCI estimates that Unifier reduced RFI turnaround times by an average of 10 days.Semiconductor fabs are among the fastest facilities built, and delays in bringing a new fab online can cost a manufacturer up to $40 million in revenues per day, along with missed windows of market opportunity. STCI considered several project management packages but chose Unifier for its flexibility and the ability of Skire to help deploy the solution within two weeks.

"Skire is pleased to be trusted by Samsung for its vital new fab project," said Massy Mehdipour, Skire's chief executive officer. "Wafer fabs have exacting requirements. While other solutions can deliver project management mechanics, few have the ability to easily adjust and improve workflows as the project progresses."
