India expansion unveils new R&D Facility for UWB Chipsets
Alereon Inc. has announced the opening of Alereon Semiconductors Pvt., the company's new product oriented research and development (R&D) facility in Pune, India.
Alereon's new operation expands Alereon's team to accommodate the growth in interest for the company's certified USB solutions. The focus of the R&D centre will be to continue to develop the company's patented UWB chipsets, for the next generation of products.
"The expansion of our development efforts to include a new facility in Pune will strengthen our role in bringing new UWB solutions to the market," said Eric Broockman, CEO of Alereon.
"Alereon Semi's product-oriented nature provides exciting opportunities to the strong technical and skilled resources available here in India," said Dr. Rajesh Zele, Managing Director of Alereon's Pune facility. "As a result of existing Alereon partnerships, our work will continue to be challenging as we set out to develop UWB RF CMOS integrated circuits for the next generation of Certified Wireless USB products."
