Order placement accelerates custom product base for European company

MEMSCAP has announced that it has accepted a Purchase Order for a total amount of US$ 8.500.000, to manufacture a consumer product. This purchase order complements an initial one delivered over the first 2007 quarter for an amount of 0.3 million US dollars. The Purchase Order will represent tens of millions of units delivered to the customer. These units will be delivered according to milestones based on MEMSCAP manufacturing capacity and the customer schedule. The first release and delivery has already been agreed by MEMSCAP and the customer, with a first milestone representing more than 5 million units mainly over Q3, 2007. "The strategic choices made by MEMSCAP Group for our Custom Products Business Unit enable us to deliver technology products at a cost effective price for the consumer market", explains Ron Wages, General Manager of the CP Business Unit. "We intend to increase our presence on this segment with the existing products as well as with new applications". This order is representative of the momentum gained by the Custom Products Business Unit and that should intensify over the coming terms as several programs are shifting from engineering to pre- production status as well as from pre-production to volume manufacturing.
