Partnership will bolster automated mineralogy systems integration

Carl Zeiss SMT and Intellection Pty have announced a long-term strategic agreement reinforcing the successful co-operation between the two companies. The agreement defines the relationship for the development and supply of Carl Zeiss SMT's Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) for use in the Intellection's QEMSCAN automated quantitative mineralogy system.
Carl Zeiss SMT and Intellection Pty have announced a long-term strategic agreement reinforcing the successful co-operation between the two companies. The agreement defines the relationship for the development and supply of Carl Zeiss SMT's Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) for use in the Intellection's QEMSCAN automated quantitative mineralogy system. Stefan Traeger, Managing Director at Carl Zeiss SMT in Cambridge explained: "The QEMSCAN application is an exciting part of our current SEM business – customers require complete turnkey solutions tailored to their requirements for routine analysis without the need for an expert operator. As part of this agreement Carl Zeiss SMT and Intellection will co-ordinate capacity and supply of QEMSCAN systems to optimise delivery of new systems to Intellection's customers. We will also be working closely together to develop a roadmap for new SEM systems dedicated to the automated mineralogy markets."Calvin Treacy, Chief Executive Officer at Intellection Pty stated: "The QEMSCAN software analyses mineral data and provides valuable information for the customer. Our close co-operation with Carl Zeiss SMT enables us to provide automated mineral analysis system based on a electron microscope platform. This agreement cements the relationship between our two companies and is the key to the future growth of the QEMSCAN® business."
