Sun Yat-Sen University, one of the leading research centres in China, has chosen to use the Thomas Swan Close Coupled Showerhead (CCS) MOCVD reactor in 3x2-inch wafer configuration. This will be used to grow high brightness gallium nitride (GaN) semiconductor alloys on sapphire and silicon substrates in their R&D project. It will be installed in the university's optoelectronics research facility's state-of-the-art clean rooms in the Guangzhou Region, PR China.
