ON Semiconductor acquired LSI Logic Corporations Gresham chip factory in 2006 for US$105 million. It employs 500 people, making chips that regulate power within electronic devices.
The job cuts in Phoenix will save ON Semi upwards of US$10 million, according to the company. The changes, first reported by The Business Journal of Phoenix, start in early November and continue through June 2008.
