VICTORY denies sale rumours
M+W Zander or parts thereof are not being sold to OC Oerlikon. VICTORY denies sale rumours relating to M+W Zander
Contrary to speculative media reports in Switzerland, VICTORY Industriebeteiligung AG states that the Stuttgart high-tech company M+W Zander or parts thereof are not to be sold to OC Oerlikon. VICTORY took over M+W Zander completely last year and paid the full purchase price with their own cash. M+W Zander generated sales amounting to EUR 2.1 billion and EBIT (earnings before interest and taxes) of around EUR 80 million in 2007. VICTORY therefore has great expectations of the development potential of the company which is growing strongly and is debt- free, and employs a total of 8,600 employees. As the sole shareholder of the Stuttgart technology company VICTORY categorically rejects any speculation about a sale to OC Oerlikon.
Speculation concerning a sale recently surfaced in the media following discussion in media circles relating to bank studies which were supposed to review what price the company M+W Zander or individual parts thereof could achieve. In particular, rumours were circulating that M+W Zander or parts thereof would be integrated within the OC Oerlikon Group because VICTORY Industriebeteiligung AG is the majority shareholder of OC Oerlikon.
The fact is that project-related synergies with M+W Zander are being sought. This is an effective approach because the two companies are providers of high tech solutions in comparable fields in the same international markets. However, this does not give grounds for concluding that M+W Zander is to be sold to OC Oerlikon and integrated within the company.
