Hynix to reduce global NAND by 5%
Media in Asia is reporting that sources have stated that Hynix Semiconductor is to cut production of NAND flash memory due to the current over supply and poor average selling prices.
The source is not identified but apparently Hynix will reduce enough equating to 5% of the world’s production. If this is the case then the global market can expect to be impacted in a couple of months. This is been done at a time when Hynix is trying to get 48nm production on line and is hoping to find the right mix of production and profit in a very demanding market.
