Silicon South West to host international business event for silicon start ups
Silicon South West, the networking organisation for the electronics design and embedded software industry in the South West of England is to host its next event, ‘Born Global’ in Bath on 9th May. The event, which is open to silicon start up companies, will focus on leveraging international partnerships and will include presentations from leading experts from picoChip, SMIC and The Chilli.
Simon Bond, Director of Silicon South West comments, “The South West’s capabilities in electronics design are recognised internationally and a growing number of the world’s leading companies have a presence in this region because of this. The aim of Silicon South West’s networking events is to encourage the cluster to grow by providing the opportunity to share knowledge, expertise and contacts with the start-ups that will be the leading companies of the future”
Attending the Born Global event will be five silicon start-up companies that have been identified as having huge potential to compete in international markets: PowerOasis, Art of Silicon, Silicon Basis, Systems4Silicon and Xintronix. With novel technologies based on defendable IP, these companies have been selected to receive a specially tailored package of support through FASTtrack, a Silicon South West programme funded by UK Trade and Investment, which aims to accelerate their growth in global markets.
Born Global is open to individuals and companies who are involved in IC start-ups, design & development, mobile technology development, consumer product design, innovation, investment & start-ups, software applications.
