Femtocells Europe 2008: Femtocells will be in the shops by Christmas
The ultra fast network points appear to be the most long awaited device for telecommunications, including data transfer and internet. Femtocells will be in the shops by Christmas, the message is coming from a small but growing number of global operators. Femtocells, router sized, highly sophisticated, mobile basestations offer the promise of 5 bars of coverage, ultra fast data rates and dazzling new content services to your mobile phone throughout the home. No wonder there is frantic activity in the industry to get the right product in the market at the right price with the right quality of service. After all, no one wants another WAP fiasco denting the public perception of Web to the Mobile. The Femtocells Europe conference series 2008 continues to tackle key femtocell issues head on.

With a combined total of more than 500 delegates and 40 exhibitors attending their two most recent femtocell conferences, Avren Events is the leader for conference and exhibition attendance in femtocells. Major OEM sponsors include Nokia Siemens Networks, Ericsson, Qualcomm, Alcatel-Lucent, Huawei, ZTE, Motorola, NEC, and Samsung.

Now at the start of a global conference series for 2008 with events in London (June 23-25), Bangkok (Sept 22-24) and Dallas (Dec 1-3), the company has just released the programme for the June event, which includes keynote presentations from leading operators Vodafone, Telefonica 02, Comcast, AT&T, T-Mobile, British Telecom and Telus, with more global operators to be announced shortly.

Professor Simon Saunders, Chairman of the Femto Forum comments, "With increasing numbers of global operators now trialling or about to trial femtocells for both home and enterprise use, there can be no doubt that this technology has caught the imagination of the cellular and broadband industry. Deployments over the next few months will, of course, determine the appetite of the consumer for this key enabling technology and attention will undoubtedly shift to the services facilitated by these revolutionary 'home access points'. Avren Events has consistently brought the top players in the femtocell ecosystem to the platform in their world class conference series and the Femto Forum is fully endorsing their events in London, Bangkok and Dallas throughout 2008.”

Stuart Carlaw, Head of the Wireless Portfolio at ABI Research will be presenting an in-depth workshop on "Femtocell Business Models - Exploring Effective Go to Market Strategies", which is free of charge for all delegates.
