Large order from India

News
Cyan recives order of 5,000 units with a forecast of future orders. Also Mouser Electronics has signed a distribution agreement with Cyan.
Cyan Holdings, a fabless semiconductor company providing configurable application software and production ready modules based on feature rich, low power, microcontroller chips, announced it has received an order of 5,000 units, together with an indicative forecast for 40,000 microcontroller chips to be delivered in the next 12 months. The order is from a major corporate client based in India. The Group has already received small initial orders of up to 1,000 chips from this customer over the past few months but the current order and forecast from the distributor is indicative of the project moving to deployment.

The devices will be used for vehicle tracking using GPS, enabling logistics optimisation within fleet management.

Kenn Lamb, CEO of Cyan, said: "We believe that this order and forecast clearly demonstrates further progress against the 18 month turnaround programme we outlined at the time of the placing last year and hence is further validation of our new strategy."

The Group also reports that further to the announcement on 25th April 2008 that Mouser Electronics had signed a global distribution agreement with the company, it has now received an initial stocking order of US$22,500 to initiate the agreement.
