IMT expands BioMEMS efforts and personnel
Innovative Micro Technology (IMT) announced that it is expanding its efforts and personnel in the BioMEMS arena.
IMT has seen dramatically increased interest in its foundry and design services from biomedical, biosciences, biotech, and pharmaceutical companies and is expanding its efforts and personnel in response. IMT's core competencies for BioMEMS include microfluidics, valving, actuators, pumps, optics, precision etching, wafer level packaging, through Silicon vias, magnetics, and 3D wafer level integration.
Applications where IMT has customers and experience include cell sorting, implantables, drug delivery, molecular diagnostics and microarrays among others. "We're seeing increasing interest for BioMEMS applications for our design and foundry services from both large and small companies, and we are adding to our existing biosciences staff for a substantial push in the BioMEMS arena to meet these needs," said John Foster, CEO of IMT.
