M + W Zander builds semiconductor factory for ANGSTREM-T in Russia
Germany based M +W Zander FE, have started the construction of a semiconductor factory for the Russian ANGSTREM-T in Zelenograd, near Moscow. The estimated investment volume is €150 million.

M+W Zander will upgrade the existing ANGSTREM wafer fab building built in the year 1991 to enable 200 mm wafer manufacturing. By the end of the year 2009, the new factory is scheduled ready for equipment.

The new ANGSTREM-T production building will have a cleanroom of about 6,000 square metres where the semiconductors will be produced on 200 mm wafers. In addition to the production building, M+W Zander will also construct a central utility building and an energy supply centre. The central utility building will supply production operations with critical materials such as gases, chemicals or ultrapure water. The energy plant reliably supplies the facility with electricity together with hot and chilled water via a trigeneration power station fired by natural gas.

Jürgen Wild, Speaker of the M+W Zander Management Board, commented: “After successful completion of the design phase, we are very pleased that ANGSTREM-T chose M+W Zander as their partner for the turn key construction of the new and modern semiconductor factory. Overall, we regard the Russian market as extremely dynamic for our future business.”
