Renesas Technology to unify sales and technical support organisations
To Expand Business in China, Renesas will establish a unified operation in China by merging sales subsidiaries and technical support subsidiaries.
Aiming to grow its business in the Chinese market, Renesas Technology announced plans to reorganise and strengthen its organisation in China by merging sales and technical support subsidiaries. Operations under the new system will start in July 2008.
Under the new organisation, the sales subsidiary in Shanghai, Renesas Technology (Shanghai) and technical support subsidiary in Beijing, Renesas System Solutions (Beijing) are being consolidated. At the same time, the sales subsidiary in Hong Kong, Renesas Technology Hong Kong and technical support subsidiary in Hong Kong, Renesas System Solutions Hong Kong are also consolidated. This will reduce the number of the sales and technical support organisations in China from four to two, creating a more efficient business system with unified sales and technical support operations.
Since Renesas was created in 2003, the company considered China to be one of the most important markets. In January 2007, Renesas reduced the number of sales and technical support subsidiaries in China and Hong Kong from six to four and appointed Renesas’ Managing Officer, Masahiro Yamamura (presently stationed in Shanghai) as chief executive officer of all of them. Under his administration, the sales and technical support subsidiaries remained separate organisations. These offices in mainland China and Hong Kong are being consolidated to further simplify the administrative hierarchy and enable quicker response to customers. The new unified organisation will enable rapid decision making and improve business efficiency. At the same time, the enhanced support provided under the new consolidated arrangement will be more closely tied to customers in China and available more quickly.
In the years ahead Renesas plans to redouble its efforts to develop and supply products focused on the Chinese market under the new organisation. The company will expand its presence in China by cultivating new businesses locally, as well as supporting transfer business from other regions such as Europe, North America and Japan.
