Intel and IBM Join Technology Giants and Academia to Judge Smart Factory Awards

News

Intel and IBM are among the major technology brands on the judging panel for this year's Smart Factory Awards, alongside experts from some of the world's most prestigious engineering universities.

With so much talk about Industry 4.0, IoM, IIoT and Smart Factory, it is high time some of the companies working in this arena received the recognition they deserve. With support from the largest technology brands on the planet and the most prestigious technical academia, the Smart Factory Awards will be open for nominations in more than fifteen categories between July 21st and September 21st 2017. The winners will be announced at this year's Productronica in Munich, Germany from November 14th to 17th.

The concept of the Smart Factory has been around for some years, as has the principle of Industry 4.0 and the ideals of IoM or IIoT. The Smart Factory Awards will reward and recognize the companies and individuals doing the most to drive this industrial revolution forward. These are the companies that focus on helping the manufacturing industry achieve the goals of greater efficiency, better quality and complete visibility provided in the Smart Factory environment.

When nominations open on July 21st, manufacturing companies and vendors will be able to nominate their solutions or facilities in categories covering robotics and automation, software solutions, ROI performance, cyber physical systems, digital twins, AI, VR and much more. The top three nominations in each category will be invited to participate in a webcast debate at Productronica, where the final awards will be announced.
