Electro Rent unveils large facility in Mechelen, Belgium

News

Customers across Europe are set to benefit from enhanced service in the move to become the single-source solution of choice for electronic test equipment.

Leading global electronic test and measurement equipment specialist Electro Rent officially opened its new Belgium facility in Mechelen on 4 September 2024. The Mayor of Mechelen, Bart Somers, attended the opening ceremony to cut the ribbon and declare the new logistics, office and laboratory premises open.

The large, modern facilities on the Malines Intercity Business Park are the result of significant investment by Electro Rent. This impressive new site provides the Company with even greater capacity to enhance its service offering for a diverse and growing customer base across EMEA.

Single-source solution

Electro Rent’s improved Mechelen facility will support its journey towards providing a single-source solution for the test equipment needs of its customers. The Company is already building on long-standing original equipment manufacturer (“OEM”) partnerships with recent distribution agreements to sell new equipment from Keysight Technologies, Tektronix and Keithley (with more announcements expected soon). These agreements complement Electro Rent’s extensive equipment rental service, used equipment sales, financial solutions and asset optimisation services.

“This expansion of our facilities in Belgium will enable us to enhance the service we offer and meet the growing needs of customers from industries that include aerospace, data centres, defence, electrification, semiconductor/AI, 5G, energy and telecommunications,” says Leo Dukker, VP of Operations. “It solidifies our position as the go-to global provider of electronic test equipment rental and procurement services."

Investing in the new Mechelen facility underlines Electro Rent’s commitment to providing the fastest and most efficient service provision in the sector. The new updated hub complements a second European logistics hub, offices and laboratory facilities in the UK. In addition, local offices or support contacts are present across Germany, France, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, and Eastern Europe. Electro Rent can thus offer the scale and coverage of a large global organisation combined with fast, personal service at a local level.

Innovative approach

Greater flexibility and choice: that is the premise upon which Electro Rent is building its single-source offer. The Company’s customers increasingly appreciate the value of a more innovative approach to test equipment procurement whereby they can mix rental, new and pre-owned purchases with financial solutions and asset management solutions. This strategy provides better availability of high-value test assets, faster project completion and more effective use of test budgets. With the opening of Electro Rent’s new Mechelen facility, the company has further means of turning this concept into reality.
