SEMIExpo Vietnam 2024 heralds Vietnam’s position as 'dynamic new player'

News

SEMIExpo Vietnam 2024 is has been officially announced as Vietnam positions itself as a dynamic new player in the global semiconductor industry. Set to highlight this transformation, the event will take place in Hanoi, Vietnam, on 7 and 8 November 2024, showcasing Vietnam’s potential as a burgeoning semiconductor powerhouse underpinned by ambitious growth plans and robust government support.

The official opening ceremony of SEMIExpo Vietnam 2024 will be graced by Guest of Honour, Mr Nguyen Chi Dzung, Minister, Ministry of Planning and Investment, who will address the distinguished attendees from the industry. The event will also be attended by regional industry leaders, expecting over 5,000 international and local attendees to explore opportunities and collaborations in Vietnam.

The show, located at the Vietnam National Innovation Center (NIC) - Hoa Lac Campus, Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park, is organised to host global industry leaders exploring Vietnam's opportunities across the semiconductor value chain, from assembly and testing to integrated circuit (IC) design. This will be the first time the exhibition is held in Vietnam, highlighting its significance in bringing global industry players to the country. The event will also showcase the ability of local players to contribute to the global supply chain amidst growing geopolitical challenges, making it a valuable business opportunity for participants and visitors.

As the semiconductor sector continues to be the backbone of modern technology, Vietnam is leveraging its competitive advantages to carve its niche in this complex industry. The country’s semiconductor market is projected to reach USD$7.01 billion by 2028, growing at a CAGR of 6.69% between 2023 and 2028.

Vietnam’s semiconductor aspirations are well-supported by its government’s long-term vision. A recently issued national strategy by the government of Vietnam for the semiconductor industry outlines ambitious goals, including developing a full-scale semiconductor ecosystem by 2050.

Formerly known as the Vietnam Business Summit (VBS), SEMIExpo Vietnam presents itself as a significant platform, aiming to boost Vietnam’s standing in the global semiconductor supply chain. The two-day event features exhibitions, keynote and industry sessions, and more, allowing attendees to connect with key players in the semiconductor ecosystem and foster new partnerships.
