News

SPTS Technologies, an Orbotech company and a supplier of advanced wafer-processing solutions for the global semiconductor and related industries, has announced that it has won its fifth consecutive Gold Award in the Royal Society of Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Occupational Health and Safety Awards. The much-respected Gold Award was presented at a ceremony at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel on Thursday 13th July, 2017.

Julia Small, RoSPA's head of awards and events, said: "The RoSPA Awards are the most prestigious in the world of occupational health and safety, and held in high regard around the world, as winning one demonstrates an organization's commitment to maintaining an excellent health and safety record. Achieving the standard required is no mean feat. This is a special year in the history of RoSPA, and we congratulate all of our winners in this, our centenary year."

Kevin Crofton, Corporate Vice President at Orbotech and President of SPTS Technologies, said, "It is always an honor to be recognized for the dedication of our health and safety management team and the quality of the procedures and processes in place here at SPTS. We pride ourselves on the level of continuous improvement throughout our organization and being able to provide a safe and stimulating work environment for our employees. It takes commitment and support of all the staff to maintain this high standard of health and safety practices in the work place, and we're very proud to share this achievement with all our employees."

RoSPA is a safety charity that recognizes companies who have demonstrated a commitment to occupational safety and health for their employees. It is open to businesses and organisations of all types and sizes from across the UK and overseas. A majority of the awards are non-competitive and mark achievement at merit, bronze, silver and gold levels. The RoSPA Awards scheme is the largest and longest-running programme of its kind in the UK, now in its 61st year. Competitive awards go to the best entries in 24 industry sectors including construction, healthcare, transport and logistics, engineering, manufacturing and education. There are specialist awards for occupational health, environmental management and fleet safety
