VLC Photonics publishes foundries report
VLC Photonics, a photonic integrated circuit (PIC) design house with experience in silicon photonics, InP, SiN, PLC, and polymer materials, is releasing a technical report detailing 35 international foundries and six foundry brokers operating on the silicon photonics technology.
On its 170+ pages and with 650+ public references, the Silicon Photonics Foundry Report provides an extensive analysis of the different foundries' capabilities, facilities, equipment, processes, component libraries, and previous and on-going works.
Backed up by its long term relationship with all the major manufacturers of PICs, VLC has compiled part of its technical knowledge into a report. Iñigo Artundo, CEO of VLC Photonics, explains: "The idea came a few years ago when we realised that we were often discussing with our customers the same specific information regarding the capabilities of the different foundry providers. By consolidating this into a report, our goal is to help other companies and researchers to quickly and precisely identify which foundries are best suited to fulfil their requirements".
The report draws on an in-depth research combined with a decade of professional experience to deliver comprehensive, factual and organised information, facilitating decision making and long term planning. "We are confident that this report conveys all the necessary information to face the difficult choice for the most adequate manufacturer in the short term but also for the long run", adds Artundo.
The report has been released both in electronic pdf and printed version, and is now available for online purchase at the company's website, where a free sample is also available for download.
VLC Photonics, based in Valencia, Spain, offers fabless development services for photonic integrated circuits in telecom/datacom, microwave photonics, quantum optics, lidar, bio-photonics and optical sensing markets.
