Dialog to power new Samsung Galaxy smartphone platform
Dialog Semiconductor has announced that Samsung has adopted its combined power management and audio technology in the company's latest Galaxy smartphone model. Dialog's D2199 power management integrated circuit (PMIC) with integrated audio functionality will power the recently launched Samsung Galaxy Trend 3.
Dialog's D2199 chip provides Samsung with an optimised power management solution that is highly efficient and offers improved battery management, as well as high-end audio functionality. These features will provide Samsung Galaxy customers with an enhanced user experience and greater convenience. The smaller printed circuit board (PCB) footprint enabled by the high integrated D2199 allows for significant board space savings, resulting in lower manufacturing costs.
Dr. Jalal Bagherli, CEO of Dialog said, "This is the fourth Samsung platform win disclosed by Dialog, and the first of a series of products to be powered by the D2199, with additional products to be announced later this year. It is a testament to the ever-strengthening relationship between Dialog and Samsung, and their trust in our advanced technologies. We are excited to continue to provide best-in-class power management and audio technology to drive further smartphone innovations and deliver an increasingly superior user experience for Samsung customers."
