GCT LTE chip powers new mobile hotspot

The LTE single-mode chips help deliver wireless data in tablets and laptops
GCT Semiconductor's 4G LTE single-chip powers the new 4G LTE Ellipsis JetPack from Verizon Wireless.
This new mobile device is said to be the world's first 4G LTE single-mode hotspot.
"We continue to build upon our close relationship with Verizon as we launch this new LTE-only hotspot," says Alex Sum, vice president of sales and marketing at GCT Semiconductor, Inc.
"LTE single-mode is the ideal choice for devices like this one that are delivering wireless data such as tablets and laptops. For device makers the real advantage is that LTE single-mode reduces design complexity, cost and size; therefore accelerating time-to-market and also simplifying the certification process with operators."
GCT is continuing to expand its 4G business by offering next-generation FDD and TDD LTE solutions, as well as multi-mode LTE/3G/2G.
The company has launched over 15 commercial LTE devices for smartphones, ultrabooks, tablets, mobile hotspots, gateways, USB dongles and M2M in North America, Europe and Asia.
