Ex Fairchild executive taken on at Akros Silicon

Akros Silicon, a supplier of intelligent energy management ICs has appointed Faisal Ahmad as the company's Vice President of Marketing.

Ahmad will lead Akros' effort to expand the reach of the company's energy management technology into the broader communications, cloud and consumer markets.

"Faisal's experience in power management IC design, systems engineering and product marketing is a great asset as we drive our business into new applications and markets," says Elie Antoun, President & CEO of Akros Silicon. "He brings a track record of consistent market penetration and product line growth built on an intense focus on customers' needs and a deep well of credibility with tier-1 OEMs. We are delighted to welcome him to the Akros executive team."

Before joining Akros, Ahmad was Director of Marketing & Applications at Fairchild Semiconductor with P&L responsibility to develop the DC/DC power management business with a focus on Tier-1 customers in the consumer, computing and communications market segments.

Prior to Fairchild, he spent several years in a broad range of marketing management roles at Intersil and International Rectifier with responsibility for power management products for smartphones, servers and gaming consoles.

Ahmad started his career as an analogue design engineer and team lead at Texas Instruments. He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and an M.B.A. from Southern Methodist University.
