Akros Silicon to present developments on power systems

The session will highlight how digital isolators offer significant benefits over optocouplers when implementing network-level power management

Akros Silicon will present a Poster Session at PCIM Asia 2014 titled, "Digital Isolation Technology Enables Real-Time Monitoring of Network Power Statistics to Drive System-Level Efficiency."

Presenter Atefeh Mirbagheri will describe the advantages of using high-speed digital isolators over optocouplers to enable Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE) to effectively manage the power demands of Power Devices (PDs).

The Akros Silicon Poster Session scheduled for 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18th, 2014, in Shanghai, China, and will cover the following topics:

"¢ PoE Overview

"¢ Network Power Supply Overview

"¢ Challenges of Isolating a High-Speed I2C Bus

"¢ Digital Isolators vs. Optocouplers

Headquartered in Silicon Valley, Akros Silicon provides intelligent energy management ICs. Akros' disruptive silicon technology makes it possible to integrate multiple ICs, high-voltage isolation and discrete components into a single device This enables electronic OEMs to develop cost-effective and energy-efficient solutions.
