TRUMPF Sales Exceed 2.5 Billion for the First Time

News

TRUMPF a high-tech company that focuses on manufacturing technology, laser technology and medical technology has announced In the past financial year ending June 30, 2014, the TRUMPF Group achieved sales of 2.584 billion euros. In relation to the previous year's sales of 2.343 billion euros this is equivalent to an increase of 10.3 percent (preliminary figures). This is the highest ever annual sales figure in the over 90-year history of the Ditzingen-based machine-tool and laser manufacturer.

In the past fiscal year TRUMPF made a series of acquisitions, including the purchase of Chinese machine tool manufacturer JFY. Even after adjustment for these effects TRUMPF still achieved record sales of 2.507 billion euros, reflecting an increase of 7 percent.

"We've seen very strong growth, especially in Asia and Western Europe," said TRUMPF President Nicola Leibinger-Kammueller at the presentation of the preliminary figures. "Both regions were even weaker during the previous year, and that makes us all the happier that we've been especially successful there with our tailormade products."

The order intake was higher, too: after last year's figure of 2.33 billion it rose by 15.9 percent to 2.7 billion euros. TRUMPF anticipates a considerable increase in earnings as well: "We're expecting a result far in excess of the previous year's figure," said Nicola Leibinger-Kammueller. In 2012/13 the company achieved pre-tax earnings of 154 million euros.

TRUMPF will be presenting the final figures at its Annual Press Conference on October 16, 2014.
