APPEX represent Qoniac in Japan for lithography, patterning software

APPEX Corporation, a semiconductor equipment and service provider, has announced that the company has started marketing for the OVALiS Software Suite, lithography and patterning optimization software developed by German based Qoniac GmbH. This is based on an exclusive sales representation agreement between the two parties concluded on July 15 2015.

Since its foundation, APPEX has been growing as a manufacturer of semiconductor process equipment, a maintenance service provider for a variety of semiconductor equipment, and an importer/distributor representing well-known nanoimprint lithography equipment, vacuum pumps, sensors, and other semiconductor-related components.

Qoniac is a specialist in process optimisation solutions for semiconductor lithography and patterning. Qoniac GmbH, based in Dresden (Germany) is an internationally growing company with customers and representatives in the USA, Europe, Singapore, Taiwan, China, Korea and Japan. The company has developed the OVALiS Suite, which provides unprecedented improvements in on-product optimization with simulation, diagnostics, monitoring and process control for optimal on-product performance.

The OVALiS Software Suite is designed for modern lithography challenges. It offers on-product process optimization and overlay control by using combined exposure and metrology data. With several patent-pending algorithms, the current five product modules of OVALiS enable  optimization in high-volume manufacturing as well as in R&D facilities.

"We're very pleased to have concluded an exclusive sales representation agreement with Qoniac. We would like to introduce the powerful lithography and patterning optimization solution OVALiS to leading Japanese semiconductor device manufacturers, and will support the Japanese semiconductor industry in partnership with Qoniac", said Haruhito Mikami, Director of APPEX Corporation.

"The first OVALiS installation at a Japanese device manufacturer took place in this summer. It has already helped the customer to increase the throughput of scanners and measurement systems, improve yield and reduce tool downtimes in their fab." said Dr. Adwin Timmer, CEO of Qoniac GmbH. "Qoniac believes OVALiS will help Japanese semiconductor device manufacturers to optimize their lithography and patterning process and thus offer them a critical competitive edge."
